No sound at all
- Check your system volume and output device. Bluetooth headphones love to steal the output silently.
- Make sure the browser tab isn't muted (right-click the tab → Unmute).
- Interact with the page (click anywhere) before starting; browsers block audio that starts before any user interaction.
- Re-run the speaker test from scene setup if you're unsure whether it's Offbook or your device.
Listen mode is greyed out
Listen mode needs the scene's audio to be generated first. If it's disabled with a note about audio generation, generate audio for the scene (or wait for generation to finish), then try again.
A specific line won't play or sounds wrong
- Open Edit Scene, select the line, and choose Regenerate Audio.
- If the line has odd silence at the start or end, use Trim Audio instead of regenerating.
- If generation fails, check your monthly audio allowance, since generation stops when it's used up.
Voice previews fail
If tapping a voice preview shows "Failed to play voice preview", it's usually a momentary network issue. Try again, and check the connection guide if it persists.
